Princeton RISE Fellow

"I am interested in the RISE initiative because I want to better understand how racism has institutionalized in local and federal health policy and work to combat this through service. I am excited to work with New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute in partnership with the RISE initiative because I will have the opportunity to learn how this organization is combatting anti-Black racism in the health care system, particularly as it relates to Black maternal mortality and infant health. Moreover, this internship will be an opportunity to work within a network racial justice organizations in the area that are working together to produce substantial policy change. Working on an impactful racial justice project, such as this one, is an incredible opportunity to navigate and dialogue difficult concepts and movements. I look forward to embracing this opportunity as an intern and member of the RISE peer community."
