Role

My primary role is to ensure that the Pace Center has practices to support the Center’s goals and that the Center is aligned and living into the University’s operational practices. This includes oversight of communications, finances, technology, information and human resources practices. My goal is for staff and students to be well informed, well equipped, compliant, and successful in their work and experiences around service. I am the staff advisor for student organizations that advocate, organize and volunteer on a wide array of societal issues that affect our local and global communities. I engage with all of the Center’s stakeholders. My goals are to make sure that you are heard, that you learned something, and that you walk away feeling supported.

Background

Before joining the Pace Center, I was in the private sector in product marketing and communications with technology companies, ranging from small start-ups to large corporate giants such as Martin Marietta. My business background continues to serve me well in my operational role in higher education. Bringing to life the learning that can take place through service – learning who you are as a person, learning what it is you care about, learning how you can bring this all together to make a meaningful and positive impact in the community – that has, and still does drive me in my work at the Pace Center.

I graduated with a BA in Psychology from Douglass College, Rutgers University. I obtained K-8 teacher certification at the graduate level, and I started work toward a Masters at Rutgers University Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. I live my life as an active learner and relish any opportunity to grow my skills, knowledge and perspectives.

Fun Fact

I like to have fun! I also love to read and hence, wander around libraries and bookstores. Action thrillers and historical fiction are favorites. (I actually hug a book when it has been a particularly good one!) I really like to work out; you can find me at the gym most mornings except for Sunday mornings when I am on my bike riding some trail. Time with my family cooking together, talking, or dancing (!) and time with my dog, Elle win out over most anything!
