As Communications Specialist I help make the invisible visible. I share how the Pace Center for Civic Engagement makes service and civic engagement part of the Princeton student experience with the campus community and beyond. I have the great fortune to meet the many students and others on campus engaging in service and get to find creative and compelling ways elevate their voices to share how service and civic engagement are having a positive impact. I oversee the strategic development of the center’s communications and manage everything from websites and social media, to photography, video, and more. If you have questions about how to promote something, share something, or create something my door is always open to brainstorm ideas and come up with a plan to make it happen.
At heart I am a writer. I started out as a journalist covering community news right here in central New Jersey and I have served as a communications professional in both the corporate and nonprofit arenas. I am a firm believer that we all should seek out ways to use our skills for good and have sought to align my own passions with my work. Prior to joining the Pace Center in 2013, I directed communications for The Watershed Institute, a nonprofit protecting clean water and the environment in central New Jersey, and am so grateful that here at Princeton I have the opportunity to leverage my love of writing and communications to advance the University’s commitment to service and civic engagement. I have a bachelor of arts degree from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), am pursuing a master of mass communications degree in public interest communication with the University of Florida, and am a proud alumna of TCNJ’s national championship-winning field hockey program.
When not writing, you can find me seeking out nature trails on and near campus. I’m always up for a hike (and new walking buddies)!
