What is PSURF?
PSURF (Princeton Students United Restoration Foundation) is a Pace Center student organization and environmental club whose mission is to preserve coastal environments and raise awareness of coastal issues.

“We focus specifically on organizing beach clean-ups on coastlines that have large amounts of trash that could endanger local species,” explained Brandon Callegari ’21, the group’s co- founder and vice president.

On December 10, 2017, PSURF hosted a beach clean-up in Seaside Heights, NJ. In just one afternoon, half a dozen participants collected around 50 pounds of trash. Pictured above are Brandon and club member Julie Pourtois '18.

Why join?
“I was inspired to start PSURF with my brother Nicholas after seeing how all of the trash sprawled out on the beaches that I surfed at were affecting the wildlife,” Brandon reflected. “Seeing birds eating plastic and cigarette butts was enough for me to realize that a club like this was needed.”
