Want to help incoming freshmen discover how to make difference in their new community? Join the Community Action (CA) family as a CA Leader! The 2015 CA Leader application is now open (applications due Wednesday, March 18 at 5 PM).

CA is a week-long Orientation program with the Pace Center for Civic Engagement introducing incoming freshmen to meaningful service and community building at Princeton University. As a CA Leader you'll live, eat, and work with a small team of incoming freshmen and fellow leaders in one of the many diverse communities in Princeton, Trenton, Camden, New York and Philadelphia. You’ll engage with new people and cultures as you tackle projects developed by your community partners – renovating homes, restoring city gardens, clearing trails, painting murals, working with youth, and more.

Service activities themed around specific social issues – hunger, homelessness, the arts – are paired with evening fun and reflection. You’ll even get to introduce incoming students to the University’s world-class faculty and staff over a family-style dinner and book discussion. No previous service experience is needed! All that’s required is an open mind and a willingness to engage.

CA is a fun way for freshmen to meet their fellow classmates, build friendships and learn about Princeton – on campus and off – as they discover why and how to make meaningful service part of their learning experience at Princeton.
