The Access and Redistricting of Medical Centers/Hospitals & Systems of Oppression
Princeton, NJ/Trenton, NJ
Access to healthcare has been a hot topic across the country for years and an evolving issue for communities for decades. Both the Princeton and Trenton communities have had medical centers in the middle of their neighborhoods providing care and assistance to those who need it. In the past few years some hospitals and clinics have been relocated from these neighborhoods with Trenton only having two within its borders and Princeton’s neighborhood having none. This trip will explore the relocation of medical centers, the impact relocation has, current health and wellness resources available to communities, and the root causes behind the healthcare systems in place today.
